If EA wants to give the impression they actually know/understand hockey on a real level, beyond superficiality.they gotta have Bergy up higher. When there's a guy like Bergeron, who is one of the first 2 or 3 names, consistently, on the roster of the ridiculously stacked, essentially super all-star team that is Team Canada.you know he's an insanely great player. Not super flashy, which I could see a video game possibly overemphasizing in their ratings, but. And when bumping the defense stat they found that to be more realistic than the physical aspect with Kane being a sniper, and without unrealistically pushing a bunch of other stats to the max (which it would have taken to get to that overall) where you'd have a Kane who's tied for fastest in the NHL along with the hardest writer and slapper ect ect Not so much a knock on their player breakdown but more on how their stat system works.
So in the attempt of giving Kane the rating they believed he deserved, and which isn't far off based on last season, they had to up that Def awareness stat.
